Job Overview: The Telecommunications Technician will be in charge of keeping systems updated and running smoothly. Technicians are also tasked with adds, moves, and changes to existing phone systems. Technicians will also need to understand the fundamentals of IP addressing, subnetting, and LAN/ WAN setup.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Install telecommunications equipment including: phone systems, servers, routers, and switches.
Maintains telecommunications equipment including: add, moves, and changes for clients/ customers.
Diagnoses equipment malfunctions. Repairs or replaces equipment as needed.
Verify all systems in Maintenance are up-to-date and verify software release notes for all systems before upgrading incase of any major changes that may effect the customer.
Training of end users on how to use telecommunications equipment.
Verifies service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, which include technical training and Certification renewals.
Assist with Special Systems installs on a as needed basis.
Assist with cable installation on an as needed basis.
Communicate with Management.
Performs additional duties as assigned by Management.
